How can i really make money online

This is the age old question. Funny to think that anything about the internet could be 'age old' but here it is. Ever since there was an internet for us all to use, people have been trying to profit from it. Many people have succeed, many are still trying. There are plenty of scams out there promising you instant riches for only $137. The seller of this scam will show you proof that his method works by revealing his bank account. Of course this works for him, he's selling the scam. His bank account is not proof that his ideas will make you rich. It is only proof that he is willing to cheat you out of your money. Why wouldn't he be rich, he is collecting $137 a pop to tell his story. What is his story? Probably something like, create an ebook, market it and watch the money grow. He will tell you that in order for you to create your ebook, you will need his $97 ebook software program. To market your ebook, you will have to buy his $197 marketing plan. It's as simple as that. Wow, are you rich yet. No, but he sure is! This is very much like the old mail order scams about stuffing envelopes. How many people fell for that trick? How does that scam work? Well you pay someone $24.95 for their informative booklet on mail order profits. When you get the booklet, you find out that in order for you to make money in mail order, you have to get people to send you $24.95 for your informative booklet on mail order profits. Sound familiar? The only difference between that old scam and the new internet scams is the price. The idea is the same, it just costs you a lot more to get ripped off online. So is there really any way for an honest person to make a legitimate income online? Yes there is! It won't be overnight and it won't be effortless. It takes time and work to build a business anywhere. Why would the internet be any different? If anyone tries to tell you different they are lying to you. They are just trying to get you to buy their informative booklet, translated = ebook. If you want to build a business, you will have to be willing to work, research and be patient. Nothing happens instantly and no one is going to hand you the silver tablet with all the answers. There is a lot of writing that goes into an online business. You have to write website content. You have to write a newsletter or ezine. You have to write articles. If you hate to write, you are looking into the wrong business. Yes, you will find people who will sell you the special program that will allow you to get rich without any writing. The problem is, how did you find out about that program? The seller wrote a sales letter. Hmm... sounds like writing to me. And remember what we already talked about? There is no super software that will make you rich overnight. If someone were to create such a program, do you think you would be able to buy it for one hundred and thirty seven dollars? Hardly. Let's stay on track here. To build an online business, you will have to own a website. To create this website, you will have to research a topic and write about it. You will have to buy a domain name, (this is cheap and you only pay once a year). You will need to find a good hosting company to host your site. This can be pretty inexpensive if you look around. This is a monthly expense that you will have to be able to afford before you even consider building a website. Once you have your site built and online, your next job will be to let the world know you are there. This is the biggest job there is. It is a never ending task. No one will even know your site exists if you don't work on promoting it. Many people will try to sell you information on marketing too. There is plenty of free information out there all you have to do is look for it. Finally, once you have your site up and running, you have people coming to your site, you will need a product or products to sell or what was the point? The easiest way to get products is through affiliate programs. These programs will allow you to sell someone else's product and make commission off your sales. You don't have to stock anything, you don't have to collect money and you don't have to deal with shipping. There are many good companies out there that offer nice commissions on their products. It really doesn't matter what you decide to create your website about. You will find someone selling something that will compliment your site. So, back to the original question. How can I 'really' make money online? The answer is by working at it. Put your pie in the sky dreams away and start writing.

Web 2.0 babble

The seeming collapse of cyberspace in 2001 became a point upon which web trends turned. People predicted the end of the cyber era. However, this is all part of a vicious technological cycle of peak trends and shakeouts. It is at this point, that real success is measured. And the development of Web 2.0 is just that. The concept began with the premise that contrary to speculations of web-crashing, the Web or the Internet is more promising and needed than ever. The steady rate of development, and coming out of new sites and programs are taken as signs of a stronger Web space. This was taken into consideration by MediaLive International and the O'Reily Team in developing the concept of Web 2.0. However, the passing years have tangled the meaning of the concept. Disagreements about its meaning added to the general mayhem. What exactly is Web 2.0, and how does it differ from the Internet of the past (Web 1.0)? Their main difference is that Web 2.0 strives to make the web space more personalized and interactive. Whereas Web 1.0 uses static HTML, the 2.0 version offers blog publishing which is highly interactive and dynamic. Web 2. 0 also tries to un-complicate the web experience so even newbies won't feel intimidated by the many links and complicated web designs. As a result, Web 2.0 prioritizes navigability and simplicity in website design. Moreover, sites can be managed by several authors rather than an exclusive group of Internet professionals. Personal sites are also out of Web 2.0 together with the guessing game that comes with domain names. Personal blogs wherein the owner can post whatever interests him is the "in" thing. Plus, blog readers can comment on whatever the writer wrote, thus, the experience is kept active and dynamic. In addition, SEOs also make it easy to find information and websites. With Web 2.0, cyberspace can live up to its tag as an info superhighway. Other innovations on Web 2.0 version are the use of syndication and folksonomy. With this new applications, directories are no longer needed. Plus, new infoware are in constant beta. Software are easily available in the Internet rather than sold as separate items. Web 2.0 is easier on the user as compared to the older version. This makes Web 2.0 a stronger, steadier, and wider space wherein everyone can find a niche for himself.

Learning from online business failures

I remember reading a book on Judo a long time ago. It advised that to be a good martial arts practitioner one must learn how to fall. It made a lot of sense since if a person is trying to learn Judo and doesn't learn to minimize one's fall, great injury is probably bound to happen. As a small online entrepreneur, I wasn't aware at the time that this same wise advice can also apply to running your own online business. In order to be a good businessperson, you have to learn how to fail. Failure is endemic in everything we do. The world is uncertain and many of the best laid plans don't always bear fruit. At best, many of them do not bear the kind of fruit we expected. People should expect disappointments and obstacles since they are part of life. However, expecting obstacles and being ready to learn from them are very different from expecting to fail and giving up. The ability to fail "the right way" goes a long way in helping us avoid the number one enemy of success in the real world--quitting. Quitting is the sure fire way to lose at anything. You have effectively stopped the clock. Game over. By learning to fail "the right way" we try to plant the seeds of success borne by learning from our failures. I don't claim to be a super success in what I do but I have learned a couple of things along the way. Hopefully, you'll find them useful. The best way to illustrate failing "the right way" is to analyze ways to fail "the wrong way." Wrong Way Number One: Take things personally Many things happen to webmasters that are out of their control. Servers crash. Traffic fails to appear. Old ways of making income/generating traffic change. Content delivery/quality gets botched up. Subcontractors flake out. The list is endless. One of the worst things a webmaster can do is to take things personally and say to themselves "Maybe I'm just not cut out for this." Another variant is "Maybe I'm too dumb" or "I don't have 'touch' for this." Or "I don't have the connections." Or "I started too late in the game." By focusing on the "I" in these silent statements and assessments of what has gone wrong, webmasters let their disappointments OWN them. Your disappointment does not OWN you--you are more than just a website that was laid out or promoted wrong. You are more than an income statement. However, by saying the negative statements above, you make your identity indistinguishable from your failure. A better way to state failure is to take ownership and control of them. "I designed my site wrong." Or "I chose to pursue my niche the wrong way." Notice the difference? The "I" in these statements are in control. If you decided to do something, then you can decide to do something else or fine tune that action. The "I" in this situation is in a position of control. This is similar in operation to the old saying that "losers" ask 'what happened?' and "winners" MAKE it happen. Your perception of whether you are in control goes a long way in determining your success. Wrong Way Number Two: Blame someone else Failure and disappointment are everywhere. That's the way it has been, the way it is, and the way it will continue to be. Many of the successful people in this world didn't hit it big with their first try. Many of the most successful businesspeople in the world only became a success with their second, third, even thirtieth venture. However, they still became successful because they realized that ultimately--THEY were in control of their own success. Many people choose to fail because they blame other people for their failures. This may take the form of hosting deals gone bad or designs that failed to produce the desired effect. The problem with blaming others for failures that beset us is that it takes US out of the equation. By being out of the picture, it absolves us of having to take action. This is a huge problem because it breeds personal complacency and just gives us an excuse. Don't get me wrong--there are many instances when, rightly, others are to blame. However, when we are feeling so cheated and so defeated by others' mess ups, it is really only up to us to get up and try again. Partners will steal. People will lie. Government agencies will make adverse rules. That's just part of life. However, by giving up and just sulking and pointing the finger at the responsible party does not absolve you of taking action to correct your personal situation. Wrong Way Number Three: Habit vs. Evolution There's a reason people laughed at Columbus because he thought the world was round. Or at Copernicus because he argued that the Earth revolved around the Sun. People have a mental habit of how the world and the things in it should be and how they should operate. We all have mental habits. However, by failing to break past these mental barriers, we are only limiting ourselves to what is possible with what we currently have. If conditions change (and they always do), we are left only with our assumptions and disappointment. Break your habits. Question why you do the things you do. Question whether you are settling for the results you get. Obviously, someone out there is generating more results than you. Learn from them. Challenge your personal limits and attitude to accommodate what they do. There are two main types of people. On the one hand, there are people that naturally gravitate towards a higher level because they are curious and have a strong sense of possibility/wonder. On the other, there are people that go to the next level, because they are FORCED to. There's no right answer here--you are either one type, the other, or a mix of both. However, it's up to you to realize what motivates you and to break your mental habits so you can evolve to the next level of your personal journey to greater success.
